The first actor to play Jove Brand, Shaw was also a first generation member of the SAS. Shaw found work as a model after the war, and was discovered by Big Don Calabria after he appeared in a cologne ad featured in a gentleman’s magazine.
Shaw routinely wins polls as the best Jove Brand. While the weakest actor to play Brand (with one exception), on screen Shaw has a dangerous gravity that speaks of a man who killed for his country.
Sadly, Shaw was unable to conquer his demons, and after his tenure as Brand, he fell into poverty. It is believed his successor, Bryce Crisp, supported Shaw in his later years.
