The Master-of-Make-Believe, Ray Ford has been film's premier special effects expert for fifty years. He began as a teenager, acting as an assistant, designing vehicles before he could legally operate them. Still the top practical effects expert in the industry, Ford has voiced his disapproval of computer generated imaging. Ford has worked on more than a dozen Jove Brand films, as well as more than a hundred other high-budget productions, and he shows no sign of slowing down in his seventies.
When not on set, Ford lives in seclusion, protected by personally designed advanced security systems. Why would a humble special effects expert feel he needed such measures? Could Ford be working on projects that were designed for more than the screen?
