The film opens in a mirror of Open Season, with Prestor’s Brand leading a group of young recruits in a field exercise. When Prestor is seemingly killed in the pre-credit sequence, a group of Brand elects compete for the role of Royal Gamesman. As the plot unfolds, the elects are taken down one-by-one by a hooded foe. WARDEN agent Alana Dale, the film’s Brand Beauty, investigates to discover the recruits were all sleeper agents, behind Prestor’s apparent murder in order to take his place as Jove Brand.
In the third act, the hooded assassin is revealed to be Prestor himself, who survived the attack and is terrorizing his would-be usurpers, forcing them to reveal their master – a cabinet minister who seeks to turn WARDEN into his private army.
